Still Life: Pulpo y Scorpa

21 3/8 x 22 1/2 inches

This work was done at about the same time Dali was first suspended from the San Fernando Academy, thus identifying it as a quite academic work, but showing Dali's love of detail. The word 'pulpo means octopus, and a scorpa is a fish from the Mediterranean covered with poisonous spines.
