This painting depicts the Church of Cadaques in an obscuring but beautiful mist. While painting this work, Dali was positioned across from the Church, and the riba, or sea-walk which wound around the bay. Both of those elements are obscured behind the rising wall of mist that creates a calming and spiritual effect.
