Though Dali was one strange mo, I still find his art THE most eye catching and most fun to ponder his true meaning for painting each piece. I love getting to go to the museum its like tripping and falling into a dream-state for two or three hours!!

I am a high school student, and I am researching Dali for my term paper. This website has been a fascinating place to experience his works. I am impressed at the quantity of Dali's works which have been scanned. I have printed a few of my favorites, including "The Hallucinogenic Toreador", "Paranoia", and "Old Age, Adolescense, Infancy (The Three Ages)" which I will use in presenting my term paper. I hope that everyone may appreciate this website; it truly is a work of art in itself.

I visited the dali museum over the past weekend. What an incredible experience. I remembered dali's painting "persistence of memory" from art class in college and it always stuck in my head. After reviewing the works on display in the museum, now I know why I enjoy his art. To me, art should take you somewhere that you've never been before, and Dali certainly does that. Your tour guides did an exceptional job of explaining the depth, thought and planning that went into the creation of his work. I will never look at his art the same way again. Unbelievable.

After many years of losing touch with the world of SURREALISTIC ART .I happened to venture on vacation to Clearwater FLA.in march of 95 .I wandered around taking in the sights and one of the main visual experiences was when I decided to visit the museam in St. Petersburg,I felt as though I was being posessed by an artistically inclined vagabond spirit who captured and revived my spirit and I succumbed to its delirous gestures of mental creativity in the caverns of the cartalaginous shroud of intelligences that were not my own but now share with my cranium. Needless to say , I thanked the museam as I left , even though I could not begin to pay what the museam had given me . Now I am paying retribution for my gift by draeing and paintig SURREALISM once again and my soul has been revived .THANK YOU SALVADOR DALI MUSEAM !!!Steven P.Kunkel,5222 West Hassel Lane , Milwaukee, Wisc. 53223

This is truly an amazing site. The images are beautiful and the access is fast. I loved my visit. I'm bringing my family this afternoon: it's easy to get to and there's hassle-free parking. Here's a Dali anecdote for you: Dali went into a New York bookstore and asked for a copy of his "Secret Life of Salvador Dali". The young clerk immediately recognized him and as he wrapped up the book Dali asked him if he had read it. "No," replied the young man. "Take it," said Dali generously, "It is my gift to you. Would you like me to autograph it for you?" The clerk eagerly tore open the package and handed it to the artist with a pen. It was only after Dali had left the store, and the clerk was gazing at his treasured autographed copy, that he realized the great Dali had ommitted one important detail. He had forgotten to pay for the book! (This anecdote came from Clifton Fadiman, an editor at Little, Brown. Fadiman says Dali once invited him to lunch, but it was Fadiman who left the restaurant after paying the bill!) Dali was one of a kind!

This is Great! I recently lived in Spain for two years near the place that Dali grew up and lived. It was only 15 miles to Cadaques and Figueres. If any one makes it to Barcelona and wishes to see more of Dali's work, it's about an hour and a half north. They also have a wonderful museum in Figgueres where Dali happens to be entombed.

This is trully a remarkable age we are living in when aperson from a small town in Southern California has such aresource at their disposal. I have always been veryinterested in Salvador Dali's works because it seems tocapture the boundless "childhood imagination" and theextreme focus and detail that usually comes with lifeexperience. About six months ago I saw a few of hispaintings at the Armand Hammer Museum and I was amazedbecause what I had seen previously in books did not dojustice to what he created on canvas. I will frequentlyvisit this web museum and will one day hopefully visit thereal museum. Great work guys!!!

I'm an artist and during my graduate studies I had the chanceto study and do research on Dali's work. I think his work isout of this world. Especially his backgrounds are very sereneand beautiful. His gradation are out of this world especially because they're all done by hand and not by computer.I'm looking forward to visiting the museum this year in thesummer.Great Work

Excellent! I am very impressed by your site. Although I've always been interested in art, I have not ever studiedit, and I do not buy art books. I have been to art museums 3 times. This page gives all of us convienant exposure to Dali's work - and great art in general. The media should focus on GREAT sites like yours, not cheap smut pages ! This site is very well done technically, I am impressed with it's overall execution. I will add a link from my page !Major kudos to all involved.
