I say his paintings in 1954-55 as a child of 8 years of age and knew I must try to paint also. I spent more then 20 years trying to achieve the "emptiness" of darkness in his painting of Christ, "seen from above" as a suspension in a void. I failed. Dali's gift to us is his ability to paint what cannot be painted.

First off I would like to say that I enjoyed your sight very much. I'am looking for a respected gallery in the Baltomore area to apraise two Dali lithographs that I own. I bought them 3-4 years befor he passed away. They were purchased from the Magna Gallery of NY. They also had one in San Fransico. The two lithos are "Me Femme Nu" and "The Last Supper. This is the best Dali website I have seen yet. No wonder I saw an article on it in an internet magazine. I found the pictures to be very clear and the information soothed my soul. A few years ago, we bought a "signed" print at an art auction from a gallery in Chicago. We were told it was signed by Dali himself. The piece is titled: "Venice" We have looked through several books on Dali's work without success. We are beginning to wonder whether he actually painted an original. I visited the Salvador Dali Museum while on vacation some years ago and loved it. I look forward to another visit some day. I had the pleasure of visiting the museum in May 1998. I encourage anyone who is even slightly interested to make the trip to St. Petersburg. You won't be disappointed. Words cannot describe how incredible it is to view Dali's works in person. The staff was extremely courteous, and the gift shop is top notch. All in all, it is a wonderful place to visit. I only wish I lived closer so I could go there regularly.

Interseting web site. Reason why I was here was to look for information on a silver plate that I got about 25 years ago. If my memory serves me, most of the time it don't, it was called Dali Easter Plate. Has a 3D rendition of the Crist on the cross. Did not find it in your galery.
